Long time, no update!
Okay guys, it's time to step back and take a rational look as to
why Revolutionshipping (and it's unnecessary branch pairing; Vanishshipping) does NOT work, nor has it ever come even close to canon.
I've been browsing Tumblr and I've stumbled upon two great unbiased deep examinations of the pairing and about whether it would work or not.
I have a lot of respect for these two people not just because their posts about Revolutionshipping, but because of all their other posts as well. They are very good views and deep analysis' of characters, pairings and the series in general.
Here are the links:
"This pairing is full of one sided confusion and heartbreak""He's a millennia old spirit destined to move on and she's a lovestruck teenaged girl. Her emotions aren't real love, they're a youthful crush."Please write your opinions in this journal.
Also, as a little disclaimer, these people have nothing to do with us or this group (as far as we know) and we are not using these posts to promote hate.
---In other news...turning the serious half off...
This part, except for the very bottom, is mostly me venting/ranting since being exposed to Revolutionshipping/Vanishshipping to find these posts put me in a rather shitty mood. My apologies in advance for any offense.
To find these gems, I had to weed through a lot of Revolutionshipping junk. I've come to find that many Revolutionshippers (no offense to the fans) tend to base a lot of their "evidence" on the filler anime and video games. I.E: Non-Canon material. Yet they treat it as "canon".
Anything not written by Kazuki Takahashi is NOT CANON. Everyone would do well to remember that. Didn't happen in the original manga? Not canon.
I also find a lot of "evidence" that is brought up from the manga is all one sided Anzu going on about her crush.
Kind of silly. But there are some tips if you end up getting into a debate with a Revolutionshipper/Vanishshipper.
Also, I have found even more complaints about our Anti group here on Deviantart. It's actually fairly amusing. Apparently we are "wasting our time" hating on a ship. It's funny because, in a way, loving a ship is a waste of time as well. Can't have it both ways.
I'll come out and say it. I have no issue with people who ship Revolutionshipping/Vanishshipping. Of course, I will strongly and forever disagree with them but whatever. The one's I have issues with are the ones who are die-hard, get-in-your-face fans who firmly believe that this pairing is seriously canon and shit, if you disagree with them, prepare to be fucked over by "swarming nerd RAEG!111!!1!one".
It's pretty scary when you even ignore the fact that the CREATOR, Kazuki Takahashi HIMSELF has debunked this pairing.
Also, it's pretty amusing to see someone
copy our group; making an anti pairing that we are okay with while promoting Revolutionshipping. STAY CLASSY.
Also, since I know for a fact that
butthurt angry Revolutionshippers/Vanishshippers are prowling this group, I want to add a friendly reminder. Not all of us here are butthurt yaoi shippers. Everyone here has different pairings they support (whether it's het, yaoi or yuri) and some don't support any Yuugioh pairing at all. So please stop bitching about how we're butthurt yaoi fans. Also, this group does not promote Anzu bashing. There are Anti-Anzu fans here and there are Pro-Anzu fans here. So also, please stop bitching about how we're all jealous, butthurt Anzu haters.
Please and thank you~~~~
And now for a little topic for discussion:
I have seen Revolutionshipping/Vanishshipping slither it's way into other fandoms. Whether it's copying comics, cosplaying as pairings from other series and so on. Aside from the Yuugioh fandom, have you seen any Revolutionshipping/Vanishshipping fanarts/fanfics parodies that hurt your view on a series/character/pairing?
No singling anyone out and do not link to any of the fanarts/fanfics.
